ROCKY AND A PIANO debuts at Gilmore Auditorium, home of The Carolina Opry

Fans of The Carolina Opry and its original long-time keyboard player, Rocky Fretz, will have an opportunity to see him perform in a weekly piano matinee this fall, beginning on September 21. In contrast to the grand performances and special effects that occupy The Carolina Opry stage by night, Rocky and a Piano will offer a more intimate performance. Accompanied by his favorite bass player Patrick O’Leary, this show will highlight Fretz’s talents in their purest form, featuring a variety of well-known classics as well as a few original compositions. It's not farfetched to call the founder of The Carolina Opry the man who really brought Christmas entertainment to the Grand Strand. When Gilmore opended the Carolina Opry in 1986, there was no holiday entertainment market to speak of that could entice people to the area in the drab days of fall and winter.
