The beautifully appointed Carolina Opry Theater, built in 1992, is a Grand Strand landmark. Located in Myrtle Beach at the intersection of Highway 17 North where business and bypass combine, its grand columns and sparkling cupola can be seen from every direction, beckoning passersby to come inside and feel the excitement! The grand lobby features 40-foot ceilings, a grand piano, and twin staircases curving upward from each side of the lobby. The luxurious auditorium features newly-installed upholstered seating with ample legroom and lift up cup holders accommodating up to 2,000 guests comfortably with perfect sight lines from each seat and is equipped with state-of-the-art lighting, sound and video equipment. The venue has hosted corporate annual meetings, awards ceremonies, graduations, local talent showcases, company anniversary celebrations, and national touring acts among others.
The stage is equipped with state of the art production equipment including full sound, lighting and video equipment fly rigs, large LED video screen, jumbo video screens, one on each side of the stage, and ample loading dock area. Technical specifications are available upon request.
Three sets of grand double doors lead you in the grand lobby with 40-foot ceilings featuring custom inset detailing and a crystal chandelier. On the main floor of the lobby you will find a grand piano, our historical Carolina Opry memorabilia collection, gift shop, 2 concession stands, 4 restrooms and two box offices. The sweeping staircases on either side lead up to the second level, where you will find balcony seating, an art gallery featuring local artists, two more restrooms and an additional concession stand.
The Carolina Opry Theater is conveniently located right in Myrtle Beach, at the intersections of Highyway 17 Business and Bypass, next door to Dolly Parton’s Pirate Voyage and in close proximity to several 5 star resorts and ample dining.
The main floor is fully wheelchair accessible and all seating on the main floor can be reached without mounting any stairs. In addition, the arms of every seat are fully movable, allowing for wheelchair transfer to a large portion of our seating in all sections. There are also several sections with full wheelchair seating capabilities.
Situated on 11.5 acres, ample parking surrounds the building and is always free at The Carolina Opry Theater.
